Mattie Hathaway has survived everything from insane ghosts to her own mother trying to murder her.

But now she's faced with a choice that will cost her everything…no matter what she decides.

To save a child, she must defeat the Fallen Angel Deleriel. To do that, she has to embrace every part of her—Reaper, Demon, and another part she has to discover before it's too late.

Add in the choice between Dan and Eli, and it's more than any seventeen-year-old girl should have to deal with.

But which boy will she barter her soul to save?

There are no good choices for Mattie Louise Hathaway in the series finale of The Ghost Files. Only choices that she'll have to live with.

But will they be the right ones?

Review

This is what the previous books in this series have been leading up to, a battle between Mattie and Deleriel. It's awesome, it's epic, and you'll just have to see it for yourself.

This is the book where all of Mattie's family history, at least the relevant branches, are revealed. Some were more surprising than others, but they were all interesting to read. All of the other characters from the previous books? Yeah, they have their roles to play in this book; even Silas, the demon we love and loathe, plays an unexpected role.

There are points in the plot where the action slows down, but they are relevant to the whole story arc and you won't want to skip over them. For the most part, the plot moved forward at a swift enough pace to keep me reading. The characters are already developed, so character-building is moot. If you don't like the characters as a whole by the time you get to this book, the events in this book aren't likely to change your mind. There were some unexpected twists, some of the characters I thought were deceiving Mattie didn't, and some of the characters I thought would be there for her until the end weren't.

I enjoyed the series as a whole, but Baker really did save the best for last with this book. It was a creepy, emotional, and surprising read that I won't soon forget.
