Review
I've read and reviewed a couple of Fiction-Atlas Anthologies before and enjoyed them immensely, so I was excited to read this. Unfortunately, this book didn't resonate with me. I think part of the reason why was that I expected more hard-core science fiction with time travel and alternate universes. Still, there were several fantasy stories as well that I ended up enjoying more than the science fiction. Overall, I couldn't get into the stories; however, there were a few that intrigued me.
First, Silver Witch by Melissa Beckwith is a fantasy about a woman who is destined to be a great witch and save a kingdom in another realm. Second, When the Crow Calls by Trish Beninato is about a girl who is the reincarnation of a well-known and powerful witch. Finally, Destined by C.A. King is a time travel story about a young man who goes back in time to witness a pivotal event in his town's history. I thought these stories were well written and greatly enjoyed their premises. They truly transported me to different places and times.
None of the stories in this book were bad, and I'm sure that you will find a few of them that resonate with you.
