Highlights

This page highlights the books I loved when I originally reviewed them on "On My Kindle Book Reviews." I haven't included every single book or series written by an author, so click on the authors' names to visit their Amazon pages.

Lily Luchesi

     The Paranormal Detectives Series

This series is not for the faint of heart. It's filled with heart-pounding action, exquisite gore, paranormal creatures, and an in-your-face protagonist that will leave you wanting more.

The protagonist, Sean, is incredible. His story is exhilarating, heart-wrenching, emotional, and terrifying at times. He has survived a lot, and he has the scars to prove it. If you haven't read The Paranormal Detectives Series, this book is a great introduction to the series and Lily's writing style.

The Coven Series

If you're looking for an alternative to Harry Potter, this is a series for you. Introverted, intelligent, and with a goth sense of style; Harley has a dark side that makes her character both relevant and relateable.

Paige Papillon Paranormal Mysteries

There's plenty to like in this series: a quirky female protagonist, her witchy friend, and a not-so-predictable mystery. I was worried about not feeling emotionally attached to Paige in the first book; however, I found myself emotionally invested in the second book.

Tricia Copeland

     Being Me Series

The college student protagonist, Amanda, has been through a lot. Tricia discusses some tough subjects in this book, such as unhealthy relationships, body dysmorphia, addiction, and boundaries. All the romance is clean, and I would recommend this book to older teenage girls whose parents are wondering how to broach these issues.

     Lovelock Ones

This YA dystopian series has political intrigue, a rich history based on relevant current events, and well-rounded and diverse characters. Both books have bombshells that propel the plot forward, so it's easy to read it in one sitting. Lovelock Ones and Torch are part of the same series; however, they are separated on Amazon.

The protagonist, Alena, is intriguing; half witch and half vampire. The series and the premise made me want more. I was worried that the normal YA angst and drama would detract from the storyline, but those concerns were laid to rest as the series progressed.

Realm Chronicles

At first glance, the protagonist, Titania, comes across as spoiled and petualnt. Then, as her character fully developed, she became a force to be reckoned with. This series boasts a stunning world, a unique plot, and not-your-typical Fae characters.
I had some misgivings when I read the first book in the series, but Genevieve was kind enough to reach out to me, thanked me for my feedback, and promised that she'd take her readers' feedback and implement it in her next book. I'm glad I gave the second book a chance because it was well worth it. The action, world-building, and character development are nicely balanced in this series. It truly is a captivating series, and I'm glad I gave it a chance.
C.E. incorporated mythology, philosophies, and religions from many different cultures in a lucid and cohesive manner. What I found incredibly interesting was how the major conflict in the plot wasn't caused by differing cultural ideologies; it was caused by corruption and greed. In the true spirit of science fiction, Allan has created a universe in which it is possible to agree upon a universally accepted set of morals and ethics while respecting other cultural ideologies, without appropriating them. This is a must-have for science fiction libraries.

High-octane action and exciting suspense made this series a riveting read. The emotionally-charged intrigue is compelling, and the clever and witty dialogue is delightfully conversational. This series is a well-written and fast-paced science fiction novel with intrigue and romance galore set in a well-crafted dystopian world.

This is really such a lovely, light read. I was riveted by the story from the first page and finished it in a few hours. I definitely recommend this to fairytale lovers as it is a wonderfully light read and a different take on a classic.
