Review

This book picks up right where its predecessor, Chosen, left off. Shade has been effectively cast away from Olympus and has met a group of people who are preparing to go to war against the Elites. However, it isn't long after she begins a new life before the threat of losing that life draws near.

There were a lot of new characters that were introduced in this story. Each one was interesting and there were hints of some interesting backstories, and a couple of them were revealed. The other girls from Olympus who survived were kind of shoved onto the back burner to make way for new characters. I was surprised because the girls and Silver were close, and I expected to see those friendships develop a bit more.

There's action and adventure in this story, and it was well-written and realistic. Silver has found herself chosen as a leader of the group. While she is hesitant about leading people, readers will find that she is starting to come into her own. I found it interesting how Silver's history was fleshed out even more with her reactions and thoughts to situations.

The plot moved forward quickly, or it seemed that way because the action was suspenseful. The new characters were just as interesting as the characters from the previous book; however, as I said, it would've been nice to see more interaction between Silver and the girls from the previous book.

I did enjoy reading this book, and I already have the next book loaded onto my Kindle.
