Review
I don't remember exactly how I got this book, I think I may have downloaded it from Story Origin. Either way, it's from my personal library, so I wasn't compelled by a written or oral contract to review it.
The plot follows a teenager, Zane, who is a VidTube star with a wonderful girlfriend. The problem is, she's not so wonderful as she leaves Zane behind on the last ship to leave Earth. Zane and his mentor decide to leave the city in search of a place to survive.
Unlike most post-apocalyptic books, there isn't much action. Most of Zane's adventures involve a lot of travel as he finds a place where he can survive. I liked Zane as a character, he's vulnerable and he's quick on his feet. The other cast of characters are compelling in their own way, but Zane is definitely the focus of this book.
Regardless of how I came across this book, I'm glad I did. I was rooting for Zane from the first page, and I'm anxious to see how his new, post-apocalyptic life is treating him.
