The original "On My Kindle Book Reviews" began in 2015 when I received my first Kindle as a Christmas present. I started downloading free or almost free books on Amazon. I started reviewing them on a lifestyle blog I had, and the "Reviews" section took over. It was at that point that I decided to focus on book reviews, and "On My Kindle Book Reviews" was born.

I started accepting review requests from authors and gained more credibility in the indie author community. It took a few years, but my credibility increased to the point where I was getting more requests than I could handle. I reviewed for every indie author who asked, but I couldn't handle it. In short, I tried to be everything to everybody and ended up overwhelmed, so I shut down the blog.

After stepping away from the blog, I stopped reviewing books for a few years. Sure, I reviewed books by indie authors that I continued to follow, but it wasn't as demanding as it was when I was blogging. Some of the authors I follow offer their books on Kindle Unlimited, so I decided to subscribe to KU and signed up for NetGalley. I posted book reviews on Amazon and shared those reviews on Instagram. 

In 2022, I found that I missed book blogging and decided to start blogging again, with one caveat: I would share reviews for books that I was reading, and I wouldn't accept requests.

With that, "On My Kindle Book Reviews" was reborn. I started completely from scratch. Then I had to put Lexi, my emotional support dog, to sleep. I stopped reading and completely closed all of the accounts for my brand. I stopped caring. I just shut down because life without her was empty and hollow. I couldn't read without a furry, white creature watching over me. She was my muse, my everything, and she was just gone. I was bereft for three years.

Something changed, and I started reading again. I missed blogging, and now I'm starting from scratch again. The books I read come from KU, NetGalley, or ARCs that I've applied to read.
